Angul, also known as Anugul, is the headquarters of Angul District in Odisha, India. It is the 11th largest District among 30 others in Odisha, with a total geographical area of 6,232 sq. km has an average elevation of 195 m above sea level. The city coordinates are 20°50'17"N and 85°05'44"E. There are four meteorological seasons in Angul: winter (January-February), pre-monsoon season (March-May), Southwest monsoon season (June-September), and northeast monsoon season (October-December). The estimated population of Angul is 44,390. Odia is the official language of the city.
