Beawar lies in Rajasthan’s Ajmer District and the city was once a financial capital to the Merwara State in Rajputana. The population of the city stood at 342,935 as of the year 2011 and it lies approximately 70 km away from Ajmer which is the headquarters of the district. It also lies 184 km away from Jaipur which is the capital of the State. The city was founded by Charles George Dixon and it has its own Municipal Council for administration and governance. The total area of Beawar is 17 square kilometers, while the coordinates are 26.1046° N, 74.3199° E. The languages spoken here include English, Marwadi and Hindi.
