Sholinganallur has become a prime residential area inm South Chennai due to the constant demand for housing from the IT hubs in the area. Road ocnnectivity is good and the airport is close by. The east coast road nearby is an attraction for residents.

There are good markets, shops, shopping malls and hospitals in and around the locality. Hosuing is in demand here due to the IT hubs nearby. Traffic jams on the toll plazas on the old Mahabalipuram road are a regular problem.
