Recently, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named ITDC, or Ichalkaranji Textile Development Cluster was formed to enhance the infrastructural facilities of the city. Although the city is not directly connected by rail or air, the nearest railway station is only 6km away, and the nearest airport is Kolhapur airport which is 30 km away.
