Though centralised place and more accessible to railways carsheds buses and other amenties people have no knowlege about the place . They prefer Vartak Nagar though ithey have transport and communication problems and overcroded polluted read more

Kalwa is a city in the Thane District of Maharashtra.
It is located at 19.2022° N, 73.0025° E. It has a population of 245973 and the total area occupied is 14.55 km2. Kalwa has a moderate climate with rainfall in the summer and dry spells in the winter. The average temperatures vary from 38°C to 24°C. Marathi being the official language, Hindi is spoken as well.

Thane Municipal Corporation is the Local Urban Body that administers Kalwa. The nearby places to Kalwa are Airoli (5.8 Km), Thane East (5.92 Km), Thane West (6.68 Km), Mulund West (8.36 Km) and Ghansoli (9.44 Km).
