Pen is an important locality in Raigad district of Maharashtra. The place is famous for world class Ganesh idols. The roads connected through this place are Pen Bypass Road, Pen Khopoli Road, Vashi-Vadhav Road and Borgaon Road. Due to its vantage location, Pen developed as a port city (present day Antora port was commonly referred as "Pen Port"), with trade links as far as Egypt. It had a very prosperous marketplace where exchange of goods to and from deccan took place. The locale also houses various employments sectors namely trade/business, education, banking, industries, services, papad making (women's' co-operatives) and most importantly, idol making. A major part of Reliance industries is located in the vicinity thus attracting making working professionals to settle in and around this locale. Pen Railway Station is at brief driving distance, a major halt for long distance trains. Schools are K E. S's Nana Patel High School, Banthia School and Colleges are Pillai College of Arts Commerce & Science here. The famous landmarks of this place are Ashok Soni 4 Acre and Marine Forntiers Dharamtar, Alibaug. A beautiful river passes through this place called as Bhogwati River and Dharamtar Khadi River which give a scenic and pleasant aura here. Shri Saibaba Temple here is visited by many for worship.
