Coorg or Kodagu is a leading district in the State of Karnataka. Prior to the year 1956, it was a major administrative State. It was then merged into the State of Mysore thereafter. It spreads over 4,102 square kilometers along the Western Ghats. The population of the district was 548,561 people in 2011. Coorg is a part of the Malnad Region with its headquarters at Madikeri. The total area is 4,102 square kilometers. Coorg is one of India’s most famous hill stations. Some of its landmarks include the Abbey Falls, Tibetan Buddhist Golden Temple and the Nagarahole National Park. The coordinates of the area are 12.4244° N, 75.7382° E. Infrastructure and Details Coorg is approximately 95 km away from the Mysore Junction railway station. The Kannur and Thalassery railway stations in Kerala are roughly 79-80 km away from the picturesque hill station. The Kannur International Airport at Kerala is only 59 km away from Coorg while the Mangalore International Airport lies 118 km away from it.
