Sangareddy shares boundaries with five districts, such as Medak, Medchal, Vikarabad, Kamareddy, and Rangareddy. The city is about 72 km from Medak and 55 km from Hyderabad and is situated on the Hyderabad-Mumbai Highway. It includes two sections - the Old Sangareddy and the New Sangareddy. The Sangareddy Municipality, the first-grade municipality with 38 election wards, controls civic administration. The jurisdiction of this civic body is spread over an area of 13.69 sq km. The latitude and longitude of Sangareddy are 17.6140° N and 78.0816° E, respectively. With an area of 12.12 sq km, Sangareddy has a population of 38193, including 19470 males and 18723 females, with a population density of 3151 people per sq km (as per the records of 2020).
