Amboli is popularly known as the “queen of Maharashtra” because of its natural beauty. Environmentalists have regarded the town as an ecological hotspot which is calm, cool, enriched and serene. The beautiful hill station is filled with the treasures of flora and fauna. Amboli is situated in the Sawantwadi district on the ridges of the majestic Western Ghats. It covers 8.1 square kilometres with moderate weather conditions and comfortable winters while the summers are dry and hot. Amboli has an estimated population of 6137 with coordinates of 15° 57' 45.0000'' N and 73° 59' 52.0080'' E. Marathi, Hindi and English are also spoken here.
