Egmore, located on the northern banks of the Cooum River, is a neighbourhood of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. It is an important residential, commercial and transportation hub of the state. Egmore is a municipal corporation area under the Greater Chennai Corporation. The famous places of Egmore are the Government Museum, National Art gallery, St. Andrew's Church, etc.
