Wadala is known for being one of the seven islands of Bombay which combined together form the great city Mumbai. Earlier Wadala was called Parel, Matunga, Dharavi etc. This place comes under Mumbai Municipal Corporation and covers the area of 6.52 sq. km. As Wadala is considered as the main centre of Mumbai, it is surrounded by Dadar on the West, Matunga on the Northwest, and Sewri on the South.
