Kharar is a town and a municipal council located in Mohali district in the Punjab State of India. The locality is quite close to Mohali city and the area of Kharar is considered a part of the "Greater Mohali" region. Nearly 60% of the population in Kharar locality are Sikhs which makes it the second Sikh majority town located in the Greater Mohali region after Mohali.
