About 8 kilometers separate Vadgaon Budruk Village from Pune's city core. Before 1990, the village's primary economic activity was farming, and it was quite small. The western hills' catchment area provides Vadgaon Budruk with fertile soil and ample water for farming. Vadgaon is the name given to the village because it contains many "Vad" or Banyan trees. Vadgaon Budruk, which has a thick forest close to parts of a river and a creek, served as one of the pauses for sheep traveling from the Konkan to areas inland. Direct connectivity between the city of Pune and the Sinhgad fort can be regarded as occurring at Vadgaon Budruk. It is well-known for the Sinhgad Institute and well-liked by families from middle-class backgrounds. As many IT and BPO personnel live in the region, it is now a well-known location in the IT sector. After 2005, Vadgaon Budruk underwent a substantial transformation as the population of Pune increased significantly. The ecology suffered with the transition from a village to a suburb. Fertile grounds and a significant portion of the woodland were transformed into tar and concrete apartment buildings. Most of the land in Vadgaon Budruk is currently taken up by apartment buildings.
