Cidco, an acronym for City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd, is an urban planning and development body in Aurangabad. It was established in 1970 for the purpose of rapid industrialization and development of Aurangabad. It operates under the guidance of the Government of Maharashtra. Cidco has developed numerous urban areas in the city with improved amenities and better infrastructure. Under Cidco, residential areas, educational institutions, industrial hubs, public transport, commercial and other areas have been developed. Cidco has also set up IT parks, developed industry parks and organized commercial and industrial fairs, conferences, seminars and workshops. Cidco is dedicated to the development of the city through state-of-the-art infrastructure, housing, roads, flyovers, railway stations and bus terminals, provision of clean drinking water, recreational centres and healthcare facilities. To increase employment opportunities, Cidco has set up various industrial estates in the city.
