Coorg or Kodagu is a leading district in the State of Karnataka. Prior to the year 1956, it was a major administrative State. It was then merged into the State of Mysore thereafter. It spreads over 4,102 square kilometers along the Western Ghats. The population of the district was 548,561 people in 2011. Coorg is a part of the Malnad Region with its headquarters at Madikeri. The total area is 4,102 square kilometers. Coorg is one of India’s most famous hill stations.
