Tirupattur or Tirupathur is the headquarters for the District of Tirupathur within Tamil Nadu. It is one of the oldest places inhabited by settlers in the State and has a chequered history going back by 1,600 years. The town is famous for its sandalwood and lies 89 km away from Vellore.
