Munger or Monghyr, as it was called earlier, is a leading twin city and municipality within Bihar. It is the administrative headquarters for the Division and District of Munger and was earlier one of the biggest Eastern Indian districts. It was within undivided Bengal during the rule of the Mughals and also the British Raj.
