Trombay is an eastern suburb in Bombay (Mumbai), India. Trombay was called Neat's Tongue because of its shape. Once, it was an island nearly 5 km East of Mumbai and was about 8 km in length and 8 km in width. The island contains several ruins of Portuguese churches from the 1620s and 1630s. In 1928, the Great Indian Peninsular Railway opened the Trombay-Andheri line called the Salsette Trombay Railway or Central Salsette Tramway. the locality has regular police patrolling and is safe and secure. well lighted streets provide an extra level of security. parks and open spaces are also available for the residents. cinema halls, malls, markets and local shops cater to the daily needs of the residents.

shops, banks, vegetable markets are within walkable distance. access to almost every amenity. There is a bus depot where all buses for almost every location are available. rail station is 2 kms from the locality , shared autos, roads are safe at night because of police patrolling.
