Pilibhit is a city in Uttar Pradesh and the municipal board of the district. It is towards north-eastern part of Bareilly, which is Rohilkhand area. It is located in sub-Himalayan plateau, beside the Sivalik range. This city is beside the Gomati River and one of the forest rich areas in North India. The other name of the city is Bansuri Nagar, as the manufacturer of almost 95% of flutes. A 54km long Indo-Pakistan international border makes this city an important one for security. Spread over 3504 square kilometres with an elevation of 172 meters, it has 2,031,007 population living, the city ranks at 46th position in the state. People here mostly speaks in Urdu, Punjabi Bangla and Hindi. It lies in between 28°64' and 29°53' of north latitude and 79°57' and 81°37' east longitude. It is covered by Udham Singh Nagar towards north side, Shahjahanpur towards south side, whereas, its western limit touches Bareilly.<br> Infrastructure and Details <br>The Pilibhit Junction railway station connects to major cities. Besides, there is UPSRTC bus service, connecting Bareilly, Tanakpur, Shahjahanpur and Delhi. Both private and government buses have frequent services to operate in the city. The Lalit Hari Sugar Factory Stadium is a famous one which is mainly used for Football, Hockey and Karate training.
