Wadala is known for being one of the seven islands of Bombay which combined together form the great city Mumbai. Earlier Wadala was called Parel, Matunga, Dharavi etc. This place comes under Mumbai Municipal Corporation and covers the area of 6.52 sq. km. Wadala has a very good connectivity of trains for Harbour, central and western line. If you walk for 10-15 minutes you will reach to Wadala Railway station (1.8km) and Sion Railway station (5.6km). Nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport which is approximately 6.17 km away from Wadala. This area is known as the hub of educational institutions like The Andhra Education Society High school (2.1km), Sitaram Prakash High School (2.0km), Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (1.8km) and Coommo Jafar College (3.0km) etc are accompanied by hospitals like The Ackworth Leprosy Hospital (1.8km), Mumbai Port Trust Hospital (270m), Sengol Hospital (1.3km) and RSV Hospital (900m).
