Peenya is one of the largest industrial regions in Asia and is located within the city of Bengaluru in India. Peenya is situated on Bangalore–Tumkur Road (NH-4). There are a few large and medium-sized factories and about 5,000 tiny ones. Since 1971–72, the Karnataka Small Industries Development Corporation (KSIDC) has worked to foster the growth of Peenya at large. Its construction entailed a pair of phases. The initial phase of the estate covers a total of 125 acres, while the latter, the 1979-established phase, covers an additional 141.50 acres.
