Rewari is a city in Haryana and the municipal council of the district. It is towards the southwestern part of the state, 51km from Gurgaon and 82km from Delhi. This district is adjacent to the state of Rajasthan and forms some part of the National Capital Region. It is at WikiMiniAtlas28.18°N 76.62°E with 245 metres.
With a 143 021 population, it has 75 764 females and 67 257 males. Its overall literacy rate is 78%, which is lower than the national rate of 64.3%. This district is one of the important among the Ahirwal-belt that is Yadav dominated. Here, Hindi is the main language in Ahirawati, and the people of Rewari speak Haryanavi.

The nearest airport to the district is Indira Gandhi International airport which is 75km from the district, at Delhi.
The district has one of the major railway junctions that connect to many major cities. Ajmer through Ringus, Narnaul, Loharu, Hisar, and other railway lines branch out from this junction. Even the Rewari Delhi railway track came into being in 2018. However, a new line is being constructed: Nizamuddin station in New Delhi to Alwar through Gurgaon-Manesar- Rewari-Bawal, and Shahjanpur.
The road connectivity is also good and has four highways: NH 11(from Delhi to Jaipur), NH48, and formerly NH 8 (Delhi-Jaipur-Bombay-Pune-Bangalore). NH 352, formerly NH 71, goes from Narwana to Rewari. Besides, there is state highway connectivity as well.
The civil hospital is the only source of healthcare facilities in the district. Some reputed educational institutes are Ahir College, Government College Bawal, Govt College Kosli, and others. Some schools are Kendriya Vidyalaya, Hindu High School, and Sainik school.
