Saharanpur, is the city and municipal corporation in Uttar Pradesh. The city was given its name after Saint Shah Haroon Chisti. Saharanpur is spread over an area of 46.74 sq km with coordinates of 29.97°N 77.55°E. The climate of Saharanpur is warm and temperate. The summers here have a good deal of rainfall while the winters have very little. The total population of Saharanpur is 705,478 out of which 371,740 are males and females are 333,738. People here mainly speak in Hindi and Urdu.

Major Roads like National Highway 73 and other two state highways run east, west and south. These roads are well-connected with Dehradun, Haridwar, Chandigarh and Delhi. Main railway station is Saharanpur Railway Station which is well-connected with the interstate metropolises such as New Delhi, Dehradun, Rishikesh etc. The closest major airport to Saharanpur is the Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun which is 90 km away from main city.
